Quartet of radiance award (say waaaa?)

I would like to send lots of squishy virtual hugs and kisses to deepbluesandseafoamgreens for lighting up that little speech bubble button with such a lovely orange colour (I think orange may be becoming my favourite colour, it used to be green but an alarming number of my possessions are becoming orange). Anyway, back to the point, this truly fabulous fellow blogger (try saying that five times over) has nominated me for not one… not two… not three… but FOUR AWARDS! I believe my exact words where ‘SAY WHAAAAAT?’

By the end of her post not only was I uplifted but had an entire left hand of orange nails. However, the colour I decided to paint my nails is completely irrelevant so let us begin.

1. The Influential Blogger Award

2. The Awesome Blog Content Award

3. The Inner Peace Award

4. The Sunshine Award

20140328-083709 pm.jpg

1. Thank the beautiful person who nominate you (granted you have probably never met them but it’s nice to be nice).
2. Nominate other people.
3. Describe yourself with the alphabet.
4. Smile till you can’t smile no more!
5. Pass the award on.

Anteater – before you fully process this, let me explain. When I used to go to the zoo with my dad and sister (and still enjoy the occasional trip now) the anteaters where always my favourite animals and I couldn’t leave the zoo until I’d seen them.

Ballet – just a general hobby of mine that unfortunately involves performing, MY WORST NIGHTMARE.

Cool – am I allowed to describe myself as cool? No. Let’s move on.

Daydream – I am one of those people who will be looking over your head while you talk to them and replying with constant ‘mmm’s and ‘yeah’s, while really thinking up a way of escaping if a zombie apocalypse happened right now.

Energetic – unfortunately, not in a good way. I don’t use my energy to play sport or, potentially, save the world, I use it for leg jerking and finger tapping. If you are given the unfortunate fate of sitting next to me in an exam you may as well give up cause I will distract you and distract you without even realising the tapped out tune of club tropicana is not only entering my ears, but echoing around the room and causing many evil looks to be thrown in my direction.

Fabulous – that’s right darling.

Gossip – I am a sucker for a good bit of gossip. But trust me, this is not bitchiness, it is a public service I am providing.

Hamsters – LOOK HOW CUTE *squeals*

Irrelevant – I am aware of, and totally fine with, the fact the most of the things I say are completely irrelevant to anything and anyone around me. I appear to have been born with out the part of the brain that allows people to keep their personal thoughts personal.

Jealous – hey that’s just the way I am.

Knowledgeable –  I don’t know much about maths or english, but I do know that all polar bears are left handed.

Lake sunset – my favourite Yankee candle scent. ‘Well that’s just summer in a bowl’. Does anyone get the reference?

Mad – if talking to yourself really is the first sign of madness then I am totally insane. Not only do I talk to myself, but I talk to totally inanimate objects. I feel so sorry for my sewing machine. No one deserves that much verbal abuse.

Nerdy – I’ll take that as a compliment!

Of my rocker – what, me?

Peculiar – Lets just say I don’t like to blend in…

Quizzical – I ask far to many questions, often not even leaving time for the answer before launching into another one. Sometimes I wonder if I’m quizzical or down right stupid.

Roasted hazelnut latte – who could resist…?

S club 7 – my first ever album was ‘Seeing double’ by S Club 7. Oh the memories…

Timid – I would rather stay in my own little world and not have to deal with all the scary and unnecessary (in my mind anyway) things outside.

Upbeat – although I may often seem down in the dumps, there’s not a lot that can knock my little world out of kilter.

Voracious – anyone got an oreo?

Wonderful – well, so I’ve been told *flicks hair*

XENOPS – I don’t know what this means but it came up when I typed in ‘words beginning with x’.

Yawn – Man, the alphabet is pretty darn long.

Zombie apocalypse – it could happen, ok?

Is that everything?

Now the exciting bit;

drum-role please (I did try to recreate a drum-role but my key board is not sufficient enough)

Kattie Kate I like this blog. A lot. Is more of an explanation needed?

Daisy of Grace Such a cute blog! Her posts are always so cute and creative, definitely worth a follow!

Girl on the Contrary  Goodness gracious I can relate to this blog.

2014 and some change  Her posts make me laugh. Need I say more?

I thinks my fingers may drop off.

Give all the above blogs a read, YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.

Thanks again to the ever amazing Z for nominating me YOU DESERVE CUDDLES AND OREOS.

I will leave you with this

The Leibster Award

Every time I log onto wordpress and find that little speech bubble in the top right hand corner glowing orange, a huge smile spreads across my face. However, when I logged on today, my face not only grinned, but physically split in half… that’s a weird way of saying I was smiling an awful lot… just encase you didn’t catch on. Anyway, a fantastic fellow blogger, 2014 and some change, has nominated me for a Leibster award. So, without further ado, and in the words of my mother, lets get this show on the road!

Here are the rules:

  • The bloggers that have been nominated must link back to the person that nominated them
  •  Nominees must answer the eleven questions given to them by the person who nominated them
  •  Those nominated must choose eleven of their fave bloggers to answer their own set of questions
  • When you are nominated you cannot nominate the person that nominated you

My Answers:

1. Where is your favourite place to be?

I’m sorry that this is a terribly boring answer but I have to be truthful right?

My favourite place to be is my kitchen, when my whole family is in there together and ‘Wham’ is on the speakers. It’s where I feel safest, warmest and most comfortable. I also love a good bit of Wham.

2. Name 2 songs that describe you.

‘Hard out here’ by Lily Allen. I know this is a bit of a rude song but it’s one of those songs with lyrics so relatable it gives me shivers. It literally describes the life of every girl.

‘Lets dance to Joy Division’ by the Wombats. To me, this song is about staying positive even when your life isn’t going how you planned which is exactly me. Even when bad things happen, I will always be smiling and laughing and pretending nothing has happened, which I suppose is a good thing and a bad thing. It is also one of my all time favourite songs so had to be on here somewhere!

3. Who is the most inspirational person in your life and why?

I would have to say my big sister. She hasn’t done anything amazing or even been a particularly good sister (sorry) but she is the person I look up to most in the world and I would be a very different person if it weren’t for her.

4. Do you believe in Karma?

I can’t say that I do. I think everyone get’s there fair share of good and bad in their life and how it effects you really depends on how you react to it.

However, I do think people who do bad things deserve to pay for it… in a civilised and humane way of course.

5. If you could have a dream job for a day what would it be?

I would be a world famous actor, as long as I go back to leading my non famous, uneventful life the next day.

I would love to be famous for a day because, just like most people, I want to know what it’s like to have people know my name and be in magazines and on TV. However, I would never want to be permanently famous, I much prefer my quiet, uneventful existence thank you very much.

6. Name three annoyances currently in your life.

The radiator in the bathroom has been making a constant whistling noise for the past week. Since my bedroom is next door it has been driving me insane! I am also slightly worried it’s going to explode…

My nose will not stop running. Gross I know but it’s been driving me crazy. Especially since I refuse to blow my nose in class as it has started making proper old man trumpet noises when I do so.

I polished my school shoes (fancy) but didn’t avoid the laces. This means they are coming undone at least 15 times a day, causing not one but two ‘I-tripped-up-in-front-of-all-the-year-11’s’ incidents.

7. What spirit animal do you best vibe with?

I don’t really know what this is so I took an online quiz. Apparently my spirit animal is a beaver. Fantastic.

8. How has blogging helped me?

Blogging has helped me to come out of my shell enormous amounts. Seeing people reading, liking and commenting on my work gives a huge boost and being nominated for awards, well, that’s an indescribable feeling. Anyway, since I’ve had this blog I have made numerous new friends and become much more confident within myself.

9. List two things that you are proud of accomplishing.

Finally coming out of my shell and facing my fear of new people.

Getting to Grade 6 ballet.

10. Do you have a talent? If so, what is it?

No is the short answer to this. I am one of those people who is pretty even at everything, an all rounder if you will. However, I have done ballet since I was 4 and am in grade 6 so I guess some people would count that as a talent?

11. Where do you envision yourself in 5 years?

In my second year of a Midwifery degree at University.

My Questions to the nominees:

1. What was your first word?

2. What is your biggest aim for 2014?

3. Do you have a lucky number? If so, what is it and why?

4. Did you have a reason for starting your blog?

5. What’s your all time favourite film?

6. What’s the best Christmas/birthday present you ever got?

7. Are you superstitious?

8. If you could have any animal in the world for a pet, what would you choose and what would you name it?

9. If you could change your name, what would you change it to?

10. What was the biggest accomplishment of your 2013?

11. If you had been born the opposite gender, what would your name have been?

And finally, the exciting bit.

My nominees are:

*drum roll*

1. The girl in the little black dress

2. Daisy of Grace

3. Miz Lulu

4. Diary of a curly girl

5. Miss Lou

6. Domestic Geek girl

7. Mostly True Ramblings

8. Joanna Loves

9. Girl on the Contrary

10. Journey thru L

11. Kattie Kate

Phew, that took some time!

Anyway, thanks again to 2014 and some change for nominating me, you deserve lots and lots of virtual cookies!

Make sure you click all the links above, they’ve been nominated for a reason you know!

Thanks for reading, I shall leave you with a picture of my new found spirit animal

Aren’t I a lucky girl?

WordPress Family award and Reader appreciation award

wordpress 1

*Smiles manically*

I have been nominated for not one, but two blogging awards this week! EEK! Both nominations came from an amazing girl named ZooBoo, and, if I could nominate her back, I sure as hell would. Go check out her page, it’s a glorious mixture of humour, honesty and wisdom, all whisked together to make a beautiful personal blog, and I anticipate her posts avidly as they are always relatable and wonderfully written.

1. Thank the bloggers who nominated you; they are amazing people *cough* me *cough*.
2. Nominate other deserving bloggers and let them know they’ve been nominated.
3. Display the award logo on your blog.
4. Smile manically.
5. (With the Reader Appreciation Award) List 7 facts about yourself

So, without further ado, lets get this show on the road!

Seven facts about me:

  1. I was told recently that I have ‘too green eyes’. Not only is that bad grammar, but I had always thought they where blue. What a wacky world we live in.
  2. I am the most unfussy eater there ever was. I will eat anything. And when I say anything, I mean anything. (Apart form rice pudding. *shivers*)
  3. I have a candle obsession. There are currently six surrounding this laptop which, now I think of it, is probably not the safest thing in the world… and the scents don’t really compliment each other.
  4. I physically cannot straighten my hair since I got it cut. I had four inches lopped off my locks the other day and the curls have gone wild. Even the hairdresser and a pair of GHD’s couldn’t manage it.
  5. I have a pet hamster who I probably talk to more than my friends or family. I think I may have some sort of social insecurity problem going on.
  6. My dream occupation is a midwife. I have always wanted to work in the medical field and what could be more fulfilling than delivering baby’s into this world?
  7. When I was young, I had a huge duck obsession. I owned 27 rubber ducks, my room was duck themed, and one of my first words was ‘quack’. I don’t know what happened there.

And now the exciting bit. In no particular order, my nominees are…

1. Dainty Daisy of Grace; A fantastic blogger with a great eye for fashion. All her posts are so beautiful and amazing, and she definitely deserves this recognition!

2. Diary of a curly girl; I love love love this page! All her posts are so relatable and awesome and actually really useful. She has some fantastic tips on food, drink and curly hair!

3. Domestic Geek girl; A fantastic page filled with interesting reviews and posts. How she gets her page to look so fantastic I will never know *looks up and sighs*.

4. The war in my brain; An awe inspiring blog all about the ups and downs of life with OCD with some really cute and relatable posts thrown in the mix.

5. Thoughts appear;  A blog made fantastic by kittens. Oh, and make sure you send pop tarts.

Please go and click the links above, it is people like them who give me faith in this wacky world we live in.

Oh, and just like my nominator I’m bending the rules a bit *giggles cheekily*. I’ve done two awards in one but you, yes nominees, I’m talking to YOU, get a choice. Yup, It’s now down to you to decide which path you will take *dramatic music* *wanders if I do this star thing too much* *does it anyway*. You can decide weather you want to be a bit cheeky like me and do the wordress family AND the reader appreciation award or you can choose one or the other.

Once again, I would like to thank ZooBoo for nominating me and give her a big, fat, squishy virtual hug!

And on that note, I will bid you fare well.

Good luck to the nominees and thanks for reading!

The one lovely blog award

A couple of days ago a fab fellow blogger Domestic Geek Girl nominated me for the one lovely blog award! Go check out her blog, it really is fantastic! Anyway, I have a bit of time and, from previous experience, know how long these award posts can take so with out further ado, lets get this show on the road!

Here are the rules for award:

Thank the one that nominated you.

Put up the picture for the One Lovely Blog Award.

Tell everyone seven things about yourself.

Nominate seven other people and tell them that you’ve nominated them

Easy huh? Let’s get started!

Seven facts about me I don’t think I’ve told you before…

  1. I’m a clean freak, but only at 10 o’clock at night. I’ll happily make as much mess as I want during the day but when it gets to 10 oh no, all that crap has to go in it’s rightful place or I will not sleep. This is quite a big problem in my life as it limits the amount of sleep I get pretty drastically.
  2. I have a Wispa bites addiction. If you don’t live in England you probably have no idea what these are so let me explain them in all their glory. Wispa bites are little cubes of chocolate but the inside is filled with tiny air bubbles that make it melt in your mouth. Kinda like Aero but with more chocolate and less air. Anyway, I will happily munch my way through 3 packets of these in one day and still not be satisfied. Yeah. I have a problem.
  3. I have never watched a full Harry Potter movie. Or read the books. Ok Ok, stop throwing things at your screen and let me explain. I don’t like fantasy. I never have and I probably never will. (This does not include the Hobbit which I actually enjoyed reading.) Anyway, I watched half of one film and simply couldn’t force myself to sit through another hour so played Mario Kart instead. I also read the first chapter of one of the books and just didn’t get on with it. Also, don’t bother asking which book or film it was cause I have no idea.
  4. I have never been admitted to Hospital. Actually, neither has my sister or my parents (excluding when my mum gave birth and my dad got a piece of beef wedged in his throat.) Anyway, I guess I’ve just been lucky and never needed to. I’ve never broken a bone, needed an operation or been seriously ill.
  5. I have had the song ‘Under the Sea’ from ‘The Little Mermaid’ stuck in my head for 3 hours now. I am going insane.
  6. My dinner is ready, back in a sec!
  7. I only know three of my times tables. I don’t know why but there’s something about them I just can’t grasp. And believe me, counting fours on your fingers when your fourteen is pretty embarrassing.

And, in no particular order, my nominees are:

  1. The diary of a curly girl
  2. Dainty daisy of grace
  3. Girl of the Contrary
  4. Kattie Kate
  5. Just another teen blogger
  6. The war in my brain
  7. ZooBoo

Phew! I hope you enjoyed peering into my personal life and to those I nominated, go spread the love!

Weather you where nominated or not, make sure you check out all the blogs I linked to in this post, you won’t regret it (promise).

Thanks again to Domestic Geek Girl for nominating me!

Thanks for reading!

The Sunshine Award

My day has been made. I’ve been nominated for the sunshine award! I would like to thank Kattie Kate, once again, for this second nomination and for reminding me that the sun is not shining, but behind a giganto raincloud that just deposited its contents on me on the way home from school. Anyway, I’ll get on with the post and make sure you take a look at Kattie’s blog, it’s fab!

The first thing I have to do is nominate 11 bloggers I enjoy reading so, in no particular order

1. The war in my brain

2.  Cara’s cliche

3. Girl on the contrary

4.  Domestic geek girl

5. Finding beauty in spite of myself

6. Iceabel

7. ZooBoo

8. The diary of a curly girl

9. Thoughts appear

10. The accidental cootchie mama

11. A pretty Penny

The Rules:
-You have to post a picture of the Sunshine award in the blog post.
-Post 11 random facts about yourself.
-Answer the 11 questions from the blogger who nominated you.
-Nominate 11 wonderful bloggers.
-Write 11 questions for them to answer
-Let the nominated blogger know you have nominated them

11 facts:

  1. I have done ballet dancing since I was 6.
  2. I have very long, very thick, very curly hair.
  3. I am incredibly flexible. I can put my hands flat on the floor with out bending my knees and put my legs behind my head!
  4. I get obsessed with TV shows and music very very easily!
  5. I can’t wear skinny jeans because I find them so uncomfortable.
  6. I know how to ride horses.
  7. My first word was duck.
  8. My first dream job was a mermaid. No one explained to me that this was a mythical creature not an occupation.
  9. I teach myself tap dancing through youtube tutorials. Unfortunately this has severely scratched the kitchen floor much to the horror of my mother.
  10. Rice pudding makes me throw up.
  11. My due date was Christmas day but I managed to narrowly avoid that by fighting my way out early!

My answers:

1. Do you play an instrument?

I used to play the piano but gave up a few years ago. However, I have been known to be handy with a ukelele.

2. Who is your favourit band/musician?

I am the kind of person who changes their opinion on this daily but at the moment it’s definitely The Wombats. They have been feeding my Indie rock addiction very nicely for the past few months and they are proper genuine musicians.

3. Where is your favorite place to shop?

Unfortunately for my bank balance, Topshop. I just love the mix of clothes they have in there and they’re always good quality and often made in Britain and… who am I kidding, I just like the designs!

4. If you had to choose one person to be stranded with, who would it be?

Unlike most people, I wouldn’t choose someone famous. I’d probable choose my sister. Although we’d drive each other crazy, she’s the person I am most comfortable with and we make a pretty good team.

5. If you where an animal, what would you be?

A cat. Definitely a cat. I mean what could be better? You still live in a house and can sit by the fire on cold winter evenings but, unlike other pets, have freedom. I know, I’m so imaginative and exotic.

6. If you could marry a celebrity, who would it be?

Since I still haven’t got over my… minor… Louis Tomlinson obsession it would have to be him. Just imagine… Just imagine….

7. What do you do when you are bored?

Blog, listen to music, draw, read, snapchat, wii (so 2011), have a bath, listen to the radio, do some pointe practice (if my feet feel up to it), watch youtube vloggers. I’m bored an awful lot.

8. What inspired you to start blogging?

I guess it was youtube vloggers like danisnotonfire, amazingphil, zoella ect. I’ve wanted to start a youtube channel for a long time but don’t have the confidence so figured a blog would be just as fun and I could stay anonymous! I’m hoping to start up youtube next year… maybe.

9. Would you rather have riches beyond your wildest dreams or a life filled with adventure?

A life filled with adventure. Definitely. Riches would be so unfulfilled and a bit of  adventure is always good!

10. What is the coolest place you’ve ever been?

The top of Rockefeller Center in New York. I went there in the summer and it was incredible. I will never see a view that breathtaking again in my life and I feel lucky to have seen it.

11. What blogs do you enjoy reading?

All the blogs I listed above and Kattie Kate of course!

My questions for you!

  1. Where is the one place you want to visit before you die?
  2. What stops you sleeping at night?
  3. How long have you been blogging for?
  4. Do your friends and family read your blog?
  5. What was the last song you listened to?
  6. Do you have any interesting hobbies?
  7. One fact nearly no one knows about you?
  8. Quick, tell us a joke!
  9. What is on your mind right now? (Wow, I sound like 2012 facebook!)
  10. Whats the view from your bedroom window?
  11. What’s the best book you’ve ever read?

Wow, that took a good hour long chunk out of my homework time! Still it was worth it and I hope I made the day of those I nominated to.

Thanks for reading!
